Paddington Cleaners Modern Slavery Statement

This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Paddington Cleaners has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard against any form of modern slavery.

Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy

Paddington Cleaners has a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, debt bondage, child labour, and all forms of exploitation. This applies to our own operations, our employees, temporary staff, contractors, and every organisation in our supply chains. We expect all those we work with to share our commitment to human rights, fair treatment, and safe working conditions.

Any suspicion, allegation, or evidence of modern slavery connected to our business will be treated as a serious breach of our standards. We reserve the right to terminate relationships with any individual or organisation that fails to uphold these principles or refuses to engage in corrective actions where risks are identified.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Paddington Cleaners provides professional cleaning services to residential and commercial customers. Our supply chains include suppliers of cleaning products, equipment, uniforms, facilities services, and certain outsourced services. While the nature of our business is relatively low risk compared with some sectors, we recognise that modern slavery can occur in any industry and at any level of a supply chain. We therefore remain vigilant and proactive in identifying and addressing potential risks.

Policies and Governance

We maintain internal policies that reinforce our commitments, including standards on ethical conduct, fair recruitment, non-discrimination, health and safety, and whistleblowing. These policies are communicated to employees and are integrated into our training and management practices. Senior management is responsible for overseeing the implementation of this statement and for ensuring that our controls remain effective and proportionate.

Supplier Standards and Audits

We expect all suppliers and service providers to adhere to our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery. As part of our supplier due diligence, we assess potential and existing suppliers on their approach to labour rights, working conditions, and ethical practices. This may include requests for written confirmations of compliance, details of their own policies, and information about the steps they take to manage modern slavery risks.

Where appropriate, we conduct audits or request evidence of third-party audits to verify compliance with our standards. If concerns are identified, we work with the supplier to agree corrective actions and timescales. Persistent non-compliance or refusal to cooperate may result in suspension or termination of the business relationship.

Training and Awareness

We aim to ensure that relevant staff understand the risks of modern slavery and how to recognise potential warning signs. Training and briefings are provided to managers and employees involved in procurement, recruitment, and frontline supervision. We encourage a culture of openness in which people feel comfortable raising concerns without fear of retaliation.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

Paddington Cleaners encourages employees, contractors, and other stakeholders to report any concerns they may have about modern slavery or unethical behaviour in our operations or supply chains. Reports can be made to line managers or senior management. All concerns raised will be taken seriously, investigated promptly, and handled as confidentially as possible.

No one will suffer any detriment for reporting a genuine concern in good faith, even if it is not confirmed by subsequent investigation. Where appropriate, we will work with external agencies or authorities to address substantiated cases of exploitation and to support affected individuals.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. Paddington Cleaners is committed to reviewing and improving our processes, training, and supplier oversight in response to evolving risks and best practice. This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least annually by senior management.

As part of the annual review, we will evaluate the effectiveness of our actions, consider feedback from stakeholders, and identify opportunities to strengthen our controls. Any necessary updates to our policies, procedures, or supplier requirements will be implemented and communicated internally and, where relevant, to our partners.

This statement is approved by the management of Paddington Cleaners and reflects our continued commitment to preventing modern slavery in all parts of our business and supply chains.
